Terms of Use: Delete My Chat Messages for Reddit
Effective date: October 18, 2026
1. What this is
Delete My Chat Messages for Reddit ("the Extension") is a browser extension that deletes messages you sent in your own Reddit chats, and can optionally hide chats that contain none of your messages. The Extension is provided by Privacy First Development ("we", "us").
The Extension is not made by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Reddit, Inc. "Reddit" is used only to describe the website the Extension works with.
2. Who may use it
You may use the Extension only:
- on a Reddit account that you own or are authorized to manage;
- to delete messages that you sent yourself;
- in compliance with Reddit's User Agreement, Content Policy, and any other Reddit rules that apply to you.
You may not use the Extension on someone else's account, to delete other people's messages, or to access any account without authorization.
3. Free use, license, and payment
Free use. The free plan lets you delete messages in up to 3 chats per day. Test-mode runs are never limited.
Lifetime license. A lifetime license costs $3 USD, paid once. It removes the free limit. "Lifetime" means for as long as we offer the Extension; it is not a promise to support it forever or to keep it working with every future version of Reddit.
Who it covers. A license is for one person, on up to 3 browsers or devices at a time. To move it to a new device, email us to free up a slot. You may not share, sell, transfer, or publish your license key.
Payment. You start your purchase from inside the Extension and pay on Stripe's checkout page. Payment is processed through Stripe Managed Payments, with Link as the merchant of record. Link may add sales tax or VAT where required. Stripe's and Link's checkout terms and your receipt also apply to your purchase.
Delivery. The license is a digital good. After checkout completes, we email your license key to the address you gave at checkout, and the Extension can also unlock automatically on the browser where you bought it. Nothing is shipped.
Refunds. All sales are final. The one exception: if you contact support about a problem with the Extension and we cannot resolve it within 14 days, we will refund your purchase in full on request. A refund ends your license. This does not limit any refund rights you have under the law where you live.
License revocation. We may revoke a license that was refunded, charged back, shared, or obtained by fraud.
4. Deletion is permanent
Deleted messages usually cannot be recovered. Test mode is on by default and deletes nothing. Once you turn test mode off and start a run, the Extension acts on your account without asking for confirmation on each message. Use test mode first. Review the results before you run it live. You are solely responsible for what you choose to delete.
5. Your responsibility for your account
Automated activity on Reddit may be detected and may lead Reddit to rate-limit, restrict, or suspend your account. Use of the Extension is at your own risk, as described in Account-Risk Notes, which is part of these terms. You accept that risk.
6. No warranty
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that it will work with any particular version of Reddit's website. Reddit may change its website at any time, which may break the Extension without notice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, including lost messages, lost chats, account restrictions or suspensions, lost data, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Extension. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license, if any.
8. Acceptable use
You will not:
- copy, modify, decompile, or redistribute the Extension, except as the law allows;
- bypass, disable, or tamper with the free limit or license check;
- reverse engineer the Extension to bypass Reddit's protections or rate limits;
- use the Extension to harass anyone or to alter other people's content;
- use the Extension to circumvent any Reddit restriction placed on your account.
9. No affiliation with Reddit
Nothing in these terms gives you any right to use Reddit's trademarks, logos, or brand. The Extension is not a Reddit product.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. A change will not take away a lifetime license you have already bought. The updated terms apply from the date shown above. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
